MedStar Health supports a huge healthcare network across the Baltimore–Washington area, and their multi-site Sitecore platform had been running for years. The agency managing the build had most of its developers offshore, but they needed development coverage in the U.S. for day-to-day support and urgent issues.
I joined as a contractor and worked through a backlog of Sitecore SXA tickets. The work ranged from building new SXA components to troubleshooting errors and tightening up performance when parts of the site slowed down. Since I was one of the only onshore developers, I handled most tickets solo, with some overlap handoffs with the offshore team.
The biggest impact was faster ticket response during U.S. business hours. That made a real difference when high-priority problems popped up or downtime needed quick attention.
